William H. Davidson
Chairman

Dr. William H. Davidson (Bill) is Chairman of AGCG.  Previously, Bill served as a tenured Professor at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, from 1985 to 1998. He was acknowledged as the most widely cited academic in international management during the 1985-1995 decade by the Journal of International Business Studies.  His book 2020 Vision (with Stan Davis) was selected as the Best Business Book of the year by Fortune Magazine in 1992.  He has written seven other books on management, including The Amazing Race.  His latest book, Breakthrough, was published by John Wiley Press in 2004. He is currently finishing a new book entitled Great China with Dumas Ting.

In the early 1980’s, Bill was a founding faculty member for the first joint US-Chinese management development institute formed in Dalian, China. He has worked with senior Chinese officials in crafting modernization programs for China.  He was also a founding member of the Kokusai Daigaku, a joint US-Japanese program for global executive development located in Nigata prefecture.  Most recently, he was a founding member of the School of Inspired Leadership, a new business school based on the triple bottom line model in Delhi, India.

In 1984, Bill founded MESA Inc., a management consulting firm acquired by Deloitte & Touche in 1996. MESA’s clients included more than half of the US Fortune 100, and numerous global corporations.  As a national partner at Deloitte, Bill had leadership responsibilities for its telecom and media management consulting practice during 1996-98, when the practice grew  by more than ten fold. 

Bill is a partner of 3 venture funds and has participated in a number of venture companies, including his firststart-up, PairGain, the developer of DSL technology, and most recently Autogenomics and Trendpoint. Autogenomics is a leader in molecular diagnostics technology scheduled for IPO in 2013, and Trendpoint is fast becoming the industry standard for data center energy management solutions. Bill has served on six public company boards and a number of private boards. He is non-executive Chairman of Broadcast Technology (NASDAQ:BCST) , Castle Arch Real Estate Corporation and AquaHydrate, a high-tech water company. 

He has assisted a number of companies with shaping and executing their strategic planning processes, with emphasis on business development through innovation and global growth strategies.

Aside from investing, Bill continues to be active in the arena of global executive development. His company, Management Education Services Associates, provides global leadership development services to a number of leading firms, including ExxonMobil, Suez, Schneider, Mahindra and Mahindra, Ingersoll-Rand and more. He earned an AB in economics, an MBA, and a doctorate in business administration, all from Harvard University. 

He lives in Palm Springs, California, is an active surfer, golfer and skier, and he plays on an adult ice hockey team with his oldest son.



Martin Doan

Born in Vietnam and raised in the US, as a serial entrepreneur, avid investor and merchant banker in the US and emerging Asian markets, Martin diligently finds, structures and executes best business opportunities that yield highest possible return for his partners and investors.
 
As the founder of AGCG, Martin sets out a clear mission to bridge Asia Pacific growing businesses to global capital market by actively sourcing and engaging in cross-border private equities and M&A transactions, non-US exchanges Private Investments in Public Equities (PIPE) deals in virtually all sectors in the region. For early stage private or public companies in the US with innovative products and technologies, Martin also helps positioning them in front of global investors and expanding their market presence to Asia. To this date, Martin and his partners has structured, deployed and advised on over a billion USD for companies in the US, China, Korea and Vietnam. 
 
In Vietnam, Martin has pioneered several PIPE structures and executions for alternative investment products worth over $500 millions USD that involve leveraged buy-out, equities, debts and convertible structures for VN30 and micro-cap companies. So far his investment products have generated a double-digit return for his investors since 2015. Most recently in 2016 and 2017, he also pioneered execution of two cross-border transactions for a Vietnamese company to acquire a Hong Kong-based electronic company via an unprecedented stock swap scheme. Subsequently, he helped the same company to acquire a Seoul-based electronics company in an all cash deal. 

In 2019, he launched real estate financing with institutional partners to focusing on REITs, special situations and alternative credit investments  in multifamily and office building projects of scale in the US and Southeast Asia.
 
He is currently Chairman of Msquare Holdings and DLL AM, both family offices focussing on macro strategies and private markets.  He is an active Board/ Investment Committee member of TD Capital, a Vietnam SSC-licensed & regulated private equity fund and serves as a General Partner for several private and alternative investment firms focused on distressed, special situation and structured financing in the Asia-Pacific markets. Additionally, Martin sits on various boards and strategic directorship of companies in sectors that include real estate development, non-ferrous metal mining, consumer electronics (Ansen Electronics Company and Hanbits Electronics), a global strategic management (Mesa Research Group) and several other tech startups. 
 
Prior to actively investing in the US and the Asia-Pacific rim, he worked primarily in the academia as Columbia University research scientist and lecturer, publishing large-data studies in cancer epidemiology and served as an adjunct professor at the City University of New York. Martin received his PhD training in Psychology and quantitative modeling from CUNY, BA in Psychology and Religious Studies from Olivet Nazarene University, Illinois. 
 
He currently lives in New York City and travels extensively to Southeast Asia.  Martin enjoys writing songs with a grungy and jazzy rock feel and playing a good game of basketball.
